§ 19-978. Funding.

The unit established pursuant to this article is established to provide funding for the provisions of fire protection services by a volunteer fire department. Such department will be an independent non-profit corporation whose operations are not subject to the control or direction of the county. Nothing in this article shall be construed to establish any legal or administrative relationship between the county and any volunteer fire department. Such volunteer fire department is not an agent or department of the county and, therefore, the county shall not be responsible or liable for the operations, activities, actions or inactions of such volunteer fire department.
