§ 2-142. Boards of adjustment and appeals, establishment and appointment of members.

There is hereby established the following board:

Building code board of adjustments and appeals.

The building code board of adjustment and appeals shall consist of seven members as follows: one member shall be either a general, building or residential contractor or combination thereof; one member shall be an electrical contractor; one member shall be a mechanical contractor or air conditioning contractor; one member shall be a plumbing contractor; and three members shall be consumer members who are not, nor have ever been, a member or practitioner of a profession regulated by the board or a member of any closely related profession.

Members of the building code board of adjustment and appeals shall be residents of Santa Rosa County appointed by the board of county commissioners. Members of the board shall serve terms of four years and shall be staggered so that terms of some members expire each year. Any member appointed to this board may be removed at any time by a majority vote of the board of county commissioners.

Any board member who is absent from three consecutive meetings shall be subject to replacement by the appointing authority.
