§ 8-1. Court facilities, law library fees.

  • (a)

    Pursuant to the authority contained in F.S. §§ 28.241 and 34.041, court facilities and law library fees are hereby imposed. The party instituting any civil action, suit, or proceeding in the county or circuit courts of the county, in addition to all fees required by Florida Statutes and Florida Law 73-615, shall pay, when filing the action or proceeding, the following court facilities fees:

    (b)

    Purpose of proceeds. The proceeds of service charges for court facilities and the law library established in subsection (a) of this section shall be paid to the clerk of the county court and shall be paid by him monthly into the appropriate fund of the county. The proceeds designated for court facilities shall be used for the purpose of providing and maintaining court facilities for the use of the circuit and county courts of the county. The proceeds of the service charges for the law library shall be used for the purpose of providing and maintaining a law library for the use of county officials, judges and officers of the courts of the county, and of all members of the public desiring access thereto.

    (c)

    Provision for repeal. Chapter 73-615, Laws of Florida, is expressly preserved and continued in full force and effect. The proceeds of service charges designated as additional law library fees shall be merged with the law library funds established pursuant to Chapter 73.615, Laws of Florida, as amended, and shall be expended in the same manner as such funds for county law library purposes. The proceeds designated as court facilities shall be used for the purpose of providing and maintaining court facilities available for the use of the circuit and county courts of the county.
